From the previous post i have scanned in my drawings from around Derby making them different from the Nottingham range i chose buildings that people would likely know such as the university building and others from around the town centre.
I am a third year textile student at the University of Derby and for my final project i have based it on Architecture. I will post about the updates of my project with inspiration and photos to show the development.

Derby
I have put together a collection of photos from around Derby that inspired my drawings. I wanted buildings that were different from the ones i had photographed in Nottingham. These are a few interesting buildings that stand out.

Nottingham Drawings
These are a few drawings from my Nottingham range. I have used these to screen print with, some of them worked better than others especially when i layered the images up giving them another dimension and making them look more abstract.
Nottingham Buildings
Here are a collection of buildings from around Nottingham only. These are just a few buildings i have used in my project that i found interesting among a few others. The reasons i like these buildings in particular is because of the roofs, windows, Interesting details, Brickwork and the Shape of the buildings.

Drawings
My Drawings to begin with are graphic and basic line drawings just capturing the outlines of interesting buildings. Once i had screen printed a few of these images i decided they looked to plain individually but by using Photoshop i grouped the images up and layered them creating a scene of buildings that look more interesting than one on its own. I was still unhappy with the plain spaces in the buildings so i started to add door numbers, Brick work, text, and other textures to make my screen prints have more depth.

Architecture around Nottingham and Derby
For my final project at university i have decided to have an Architecture theme for my work i based this on Nottingham being my hometown and Derby where i have moved to for university. I chose buildings that people walk past every day without realizing the beauty and detail within the building.
